Adding wooden steps to a stucco house? | |
Removing old concrete porch, and building wooden steps. How do you secure the steps to the concrete, and do you have to put in footings?
Answers:
1Assuming your speaking about 3 or 4 treads, Treated Lumber header attached to the concrete with Self Tapping Masonry Bolts. The number determined by the load value of the bolt.
The Stringer should also be Treated Lumber. a full foundation isn't necessary, rather concrete pads at the stringer base, anchored with some sort of bracket.
Linked a decent article on the subject.
