All of our main floor walls are stucco - I'd like to remove it - any EASY suggestions? I would probably repaint but would like to hvae a flat surface rather than a bumpy one. Thanks.

Interior Stucco-
1. To cover (disguise) painted stucco. (A) Apply concrete Glue to wall and allow to tack. Apply another coat of stucco over and trowel smooth (20/30 mix). If the surface is unpainted, trowel new stucco over old (20/30 mix). (B). Or apply thin coat of joint compound over and sand finish. (C). Apply interior finish system (Tobias / American Clay) over primed surface.
(D). Tear out to studs and re-drywall.
Exterior Stucco-
(A). To cover over painted surface- Apply concrete glue like and re-stucco. Note: Stucco over painted surface with glue is not advised on the exterior. Exterior walls must breathe and must retain a good perm rating to prevent mold / mildew and rot problems. (B) (MOST PREFERRED METHOD) Sandblast painted or heavy textured stucco down and reapply troweled coat of (20/30 mix). (C). Remove stucco down to membrane, repair membrane where damaged and apply alternate finish system. (siding, brick etc...)
