How do you check for smoke damage to dryvit stucco exterior wall?

Recently had a fire at my home. It started in the basement and there was heavy smoke damage inside the home. I am concerned about the smoke damage to the exterior stucco walls. Is it possible to check the damage? Did the sheetrock absorb the smoke? Do I have to remove the sheetrock under the dryvit to repair? I am very concerned that I will have to remove all the sheetrock and dryvit and replace all. Any help wouold be great. Thanks
